Gryd Gaming is a vision to bring in-person gaming back to the fore. The aim to bring together people with a passion to meet, collaborate, network, and most of all have fun with like-minded friends in the gaming community.

We invite you all to enjoy gaming at its best, in a time when the internet was slow and the gaming much more limited. A period where hitbox accuracy was questionable, and netcode was uncertain. Only the lucky few had access to any high speed interwebs and even fewer could play without getting sniped before they turned the corner.

Social media was a combination of ICQ and MSN Messenger, while Internet Relay Chat was the home of gaming allegiance, private web-based telephony services were just emerging and TeamSpeak was still in beta. Game servers were spun up by people lucky enough to have access to T1 lines usually a perk of their corporate jobs.

A relic of a period where monthly magazines with physical discs and GamesDomain.com were your best access to upcoming game demos. Directory services were relied upon heavily to navigate the web, AltaVista and Lycos were the ultimate search engines, long since forgotten.

Fibre connections, subscription services, and pure online platforms now dominate the landscape. Physical media is fast being phased out and replaced with digital ownership. Most gaming and PC related print media have succumbed to the immediacy of online.
